ALtami VideoKit: settings

Settings are standard for photo equipment and influence the quality and appearance (gamma, saturation) of the image. You can make the following settings:

Color.

  • Gamma – gamma-correction of the image. Gamma-correction is not linear correction of the image brightness for adjusting for the output device (monitor). The setting allows to manifest separate areas of the image without losing detailing on other areas;

Exposure.

  • Exposure Target – setting of medium lightness of the image;

White balance.

  • The Auto White Balance button allows to make automatic white balance adjustment.The setting determines how on the images received from camera the colors will presented. Often color range of the image transmitted by camera is different from what the eye perceives. The differences can be explained by peculiarities of human eyesight.

Flip.

  • Horizontal flip – this parameter allows to reflect the image horizontally;
  • Vertical flip – this parameter allows to reflect the image vertically;

Misc.

  • Gain — brightness correction of the image by means of raising the amplitude of the analogue signal. The principal difference from other methods of brightness correction is that correction in this case happens until the moment of analogue and digit signal transfer.
  • Color Offset – correction of the colors saturation of the image. Decreasing the value of its setting makes the the image closer to gray, increasing leads to “more colored” image.

Clear Preview – this option will show you what the snapshot will look like without saving all settings.

White and black – the image received from camera will be black and white.

The Default button sets all camera settings as standard.

Between the launches the application saves the settings in the system. That means, by the end of the work the application saves all its settings and remembers the camera with which it worked. By the repeated launch the application looks for the camera with which it worked the previous time. If it finds the camera. It launches and shows the stream from it.

Parameters taking Boolean values are controlled by the check box (control element in the square form).

All parameters taking the integer values are changed by means of pulling the slider or setting the value from the keyboard.
