The setting panel looks the following way:
ALtami VideoKit settings
Settings are standard for photo equipment and influence the quality and appearance (gamma, saturation) of the image. You can conduct the following settings:

  • Brightness — correction of the image brightness. Raising the value of this setting makes all pixels of the image lighter. At the histogram the process of increasing or decreasing brightness is expressed by the values shift to the right or to the left respectively;
  • Saturation — correction of the saturation of the image colors. Decreasing the value of its setting makes the image closer to gray, increasing leads to “more colored” image;
  • Gamma — gamma-correction of the image. Gamma-correction is non-linear correction of the image brightness for adjustment for the output device (monitor). The setting allows to make visible separate areas of the image without losing details at other areas;
  • Shutter — conventionally can be considered the time until the work of Shutter. The higher is the value of this setting, the lighter frames will come from camera, yet, with the great amount of noises;

Frames Exposure. The higher is the value of this setting, the lighter frames will come from camera, yet, with the great amount of noises;
White balance.
Auto White Balance button allows to make the automatic white balance setting. White balance — the settings defines how at the received images the colors shall be presented. By settings R, G, and B the operator tells the camera what shall be considered the white color. The differences are explained by the peculiarity of the human eyesight.

  • Gain — correction of the image brightness by increasing the amplitude of the analogue signal. The crucial difference from the other correction methods is that in that case the correction happens before the moment of analogue digital transformation of the signal;
  • Bits – classes which define the quality of the image. As the monitor can reflect 8 bits in each channel of three channels colored RGB model, and the camera matrix can be, for example, 10-bits or 12-bits, the user can select the bits. If the user selects High, the image will be less detailed, but will have no noises. If the user selects Low, the situation is vice versa. Also, by selecting the High setting, the image often will be darker. The Middle parameter indicates the middle settings;
  • Scan Area – size of the scanning area.

The Default button sets all settings as standard.
Between the launches the application saves the settings in the system. That means, by finishing the work the application saves all its settings and remembers the camera with which it worked. By next launch the application looks for the camera with which it worked the previous time. If it finds the camera, it launches and shows the stream from it.
Parameters taking the Boolean values are controlled by the check box (the control element made in the square form).
All parameters taking the integer values are changed by moving the slider or indicating the value by keyboard.
